Valaithotta Ayyan is referred by the name of Sri Chinnaiyan who was cultivating bananas in his farm at Kalipalayam near Ayyanpalayam. Sri Chinnaiyan
was a great devotee of Siva from his childhood and reached Vaikundam with the help of Nandhi Devar. One night Chinnaiyan appeared in the dream of his
farm men and directed him to Noyal river side where Suyambu Linga and Nandhi statue was hidden and asked him to shift the same to his farm and build a
temple there. Now the temple is 146 years old. It is believed that many diseases like Chicken pox, Small pox and even snake bites are cured here.
