This temple is amongst the most beautiful temples and was built tentatively around 750 years ago. This temple is built with architectural excellence. As the name indicates this temple is situated on a hill covered with full of Kurunda trees and hence the temple is called "Kurunda Malai". The natural scenaries around this temple adds beauty to this temple. It is believed that "Thiru Agasthiya Munivar " got Manthira Upadesham from Lord muruga at this temple. The beauty of Lord Muruga attracts the curiosity of the devotees.
