ThanduMariamman appeared during Tippu Sultan's period in one of his soldiers dream and said she has been living in that particular place for a very long period,
which was a forest then, the next day morning that soldier went in search of the godesses in the same forest and found her beside a Neem tree. Overjoyed by the Godesses
dharisanam, he showed her to his countrymen.
One fine day, he built a temple in that place. Soon the news spread all over and she was worshipped by the name ThanduMariamman.
